In the previous sections we saw an alternative that gave us a consistent management for multilingual websites. Some features can be added in order to make management easier and maximize the website results. One feature is the ability of editing the website metadata.  Metadata is the information that search engines use to index the website content. The techniques involved in this process are called SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

One basic principle in SEO is to select the more relevant keywords, page title and description for each page. There are many factors that are used by the search engine to rank the websites in the search result, but the ones identified above can easily be controled. Ideally, the content management system must allow us to edit those information so the content can be properly indexed.

Another interesting feature is the ability of providing files to be downloaded. In general, for each language in which the section is available we will have different files. Below we can see an interface that satisfies those requisites:

In summary, we saw here that to have a consistent multilingual website it is essential that we manage it using a content management system. The screenshots shown in this website were taken from SMContent, a multilingual content management system that is used on this website and in many others around the world.
